About hattiejo509

I cannot live without books, Thomas Jefferson wrote to John Adams, and neither can I. Nor without writing. Although a retired print journalist, I still work, producing essays, fiction, memoirs, and poetry. Nor can I live without my gardens. Cicero was happiest in his library overlooking the formal gardens typical of Roman houses of his era. My library, too, overlooks a small courtyard and out into "garden rooms" including an herb garden, a tiny rosarium, English borders, and a Japanese-themed Secret Garden for quiet reflection and meditation. Yes, I do make chutneys!
